Chevron Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Chevron Africa & Latin America Exploration and Production (CALAEP) and operator of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation/Chevron Nigeria Limited Joint Venture, operates from both offshore & land locations in OML’s 49-55, 89, 91 & 95 in the eastern and western areas of the Niger Delta. CNL proposes to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment study to support drilling campaign for development wells in Isan West field located in OML 49 of its North Offshore Assets.
In line with the requirements of the Department of Petroleum Resource’s (DPR) Environmental Guidelines and Standards for the Petroleum Industry in Nigeria (EGASPIN, 2002), CNL commissioned Rain Forest Limited to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment study. This EIA report provides information intended to establish the existing environmental conditions and provide an assessment of impacts associated with the proposed drilling activities in the field. The EIA report will also support CNL’s application for environmental permits for effluent/waste discharge for development drilling activities in Isan West field.
