Environmental Screening Workshop On Independent Power Project For NNPC/CNL

Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), a subsidiary of Chevron Texaco Overseas Petroleum the operator of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)/Chevron Joint Venture (JV), is to embark on an Independent Power Project as part of its desire to meet the Federal Government directives setting a target to International Oil Companies operating in Nigeria to assist in the generation of an additional 5,000MW capacity of electricity. In pursuant of this, NNPC/CNL JV is proposing to Build, Own and Operate (BOO), model 800 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant at Agura in Lagos State close to the Lagos Egbin Thermal Power Station.

In line with Federal Ministry of Environment (FMEnv), Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) requirements and CNL’s corporate expectation & international best practice CNL organized an Environmental Screening Workshop. The screening workshop was intended to identify early key issues & potential significant impacts on valued environmental components of project area.

Rain Forest Limited on behalf of GEICON Nigeria Limited carried out a field assessment of the ecological problems in Gombe State. The findings and recommendations were presented in a field assessment report.

HSE Support For Road Construction Project for BANCI Nigeria Limited

Banci Nigeria Limited, a civil engineering and construction company embarked on the construction of a network of roads for the Lagos HOMS in Sangotedo in Eti-Osa LGA, Ajara in Badagry LGA; Alaba/Cemetery Road Project in AjeromiIfelodun LGA, International Arbitration Court Complex in Lekki Peninsula in Eti-Osa LGA, Kankon-Kese Road Development & Dumpsite in Badagry LGA, all in Lagos State.

 Banci Nigeria Limited commissioned Rain Forest Limited to provide HSE Support staff for all the above mentioned sites to ensure safety at all times.
